About the Language Realm

The Language Realm is devoted to providing information about language, linguistics, translation, interpretation, language learning, and communications, as well as specific content for English, Spanish, French, German, Latin, Japanese, and Chinese.

The Language Realm is primarily the work of Roger Chriss, a translator, writer, and all-around langophile who has studied seven languages in the classroom and several more in other ways.

But the Language Realm has also benefited from contributions from other language lovers. Where a particular author or contributor is the unique source of an article or similar content, that author is given due credit. In particular, Judy Abrahams has contributed two excellent articles on the translation profession (Vendor Selection Management and To Be or Not To Be Certified), and Louisiane Delannoy brought her expertise to bear on the French idioms, proverbs, and slang dictionaries.

The mission of the Language Realm is to offer fascinating articles and information about language in general, and the Chinese, English, French, German, Japanese, Latin, and Spanish languages in particular. In addition, the Language Realm also offers complete, current information about the translation and interpretation professions, machine translation, and linguistics.
